Noor Jassim

Noor is a second-year psychology doctoral student with a concentration in developmental science and quantitative methods. She is under the mentorship of Dr. Ty Partridge and is part of the Applied Developmental Science Lab in the psychology department. She is also a trainee at The Merrill Palmer Skillman Institute (MPSI) and currently pursuing the dual title program in infant mental health where she examines preventive intervention to reduce the risk of developmental and clinical disturbances in infancy and early parenthood and to enhance the caregiving competencies of parents.

Noor earned her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and sociology from Eastern Michigan University (EMU). During her time at EMU, Noor was a data collector for an NIH funded study that examined the emergence of children's capacity to control their behavior, attention, and emotions during toddlerhood. Her research interests include program evaluation. Specifically, prevention and intervention programs aimed at mitigating psychopathology and enhancing the healthy socio-emotional development of individuals from birth to young adulthood.

Currently, she is working with Dr. Partridge on an evaluation project that assesses the effectiveness of state-funded School-Based Health Centers (SBHCs) across Michigan in reducing barriers to healthcare access (medical and behavioral) for middle and high school youth. Moreover, during the summer of 2024, Noor is also working with Dr. Kess Ballentine with evaluation of KINDER-CARES, an a quasi-experimental intervention study to improve kinship caregiving outcomes for children in Macomb County funded through the Children’s Bureau.
