Noor Jassim

Noor is a first-year psychology doctoral student with a concentration in developmental science and quantitative methods. She is under the mentorship of Dr. Ty Partridge and is part of the Applied Developmental Science Lab in the psychology department. Noor earned her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and sociology from Eastern Michigan University (EMU). During her time at EMU, Noor was a data collector for an NIH funded study that examined the emergence of children's capacity to control their behavior, attention, and emotions during toddlerhood. Her research interests include program evaluation. Specifically, prevention and intervention programs aimed at mitigating psychopathology and enhancing the positive healthy development of individuals from pre-natal period to young adulthood. She actively utilizes Participatory Action Research model in her work and is a major proponent of interdisciplinary applied research. Currently, she is working with Dr. Partridge on an evaluation project that assesses the effectiveness of state-funded School-Based Health Centers (SBHCs) across Michigan in reducing barriers to healthcare access (medical and behavioral) for middle and high school youth.
