Kristin Johnston

Kristin Johnston serves as the Advisor for Student Engagement & Academic Advisor in the Office of Multicultural Student Engagement (OMSE) at Wayne State University. Previously she worked as an Academic Support Specialist in the Student Disability Services office. Kristin studied Educational Interpreting for the Deaf at Kent State University where she earned her bachelor's degree and has a master's degree in Learning and Design Technology from Wayne State University. Kristin is the instructor for GSW 3100: Womxn of Color, Social Activism and Power. She hopes this course creates meaningful conversation across campus about the power and impact of BIWOC. 

Research interest(s)/area of expertise

Equity for BIPOC Womxn, impacts of social justice movements on womxn of color, and parenting practices in higher education.
