Robin West Smith is a native Detroiter and product of the Detroit Public School System. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Masters in Urban Planning and a Certificate in Economic Development and completed a MA in Sociology at Wayne State University. She was also a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with the International Project Management Institute, and certified trainer with the Professional Woman Network in Kentucky, co-authoring seven books for PWN Publishing. She teaches Introduction to Urban Studies at WSU and was recently promoted to PTF2.
In August 2015, she was contracted to teach Introduction to Sociology at Monroe County Community College. She was nominated as an Outstanding Adjunct Faculty for the academic years 2016 and 2017, and won the award in April 2017. She also served as the keynote speaker for the First United Methodist Church Women’s History Month luncheon (Monroe, MI). She currently is building her own company brand as a self-development leader with the WADE Center for Development, LLC, focusing on training seminars and workshops empowering women. She is currently working on her first solo book project entitled: WOMEN WHO RISE! A Lineage of Our Leadership (2018).
