Bruce Russell

Born in San Francisco, California. Grew up on ranches in Sonoma County. Went to a one-room schoolhouse in elementary school. Undergrad degree in math, grad degree in philosophy, both from UC Davis. Chair of department for ten years over two stretches.

Research interest(s)/area of expertise

Epistemology, ethics, philosophy of religion, philosophy of film., metaphilosophy.

Research

Writes on justification, knowledge, the problem of evil, social justice (Mill and Rawls), and whether films can do philosophy.
